The Quran is a book of mission. And, fasting during Ramadan means saving yourself from all kinds of distractions, and studying the Quran. Therefore, Ramadan is the month of discovery of the Quran. Once one discovers the Quran, one should try to spread its message worldwide.
In the month of Ramadan, it is required that every believer must go through the Quran and find out its message and make spreading this message as his mission. Every year, one month is for preparation and eleven months for spreading the message of the Quran to all mankind.
The purpose of fasting is to produce a feeling of humility through thirst and hunger. Humility comes from a feeling of inabat (repentance). When repentance or inabat is produced within oneself, the dua which comes out of one’s lips, goes straight to the throne of the Almighty.
Real fasting is that which induces real dua. Dua is an act of the heart. The more the heart cultivates this capability, the more effective dua will come. Fasting increases the spiritual capability of man’s heart, then the dua which ensues directly reaches God Almighty.
