All too often, we have to lose in order to gain. We have to resign ourselves to our lowly position until we can work ourselves up to more satisfactory heights
Mahatma Gandhi was well-known for his thoughtful and economical manner of speech. But this outstanding trait only came from another trait which few would consider outstanding. He was very shy by nature. Initially his shyness prevented him from speaking in public. He once said, ‘My hesitancy in speech, which was once an annoyance, is now a pleasure.’ Later on it made him thoughtful and economical when he spoke.
One who is spiritually inclined resorts constantly to his inner mental life — something which no one can take away from him. Such a man possesses inner contentment, and is far above all material gain and loss.
