It is a truth that in all societies people have some cause or the other for complaint against those with whom they come into contact. But retaliation is no solution to this problem. The solution lies rather in rising above such feelings of vengefulness. The deliberate overlooking of such matters can diminish the existing tensions, whereas retaliation and revenge only serve to aggravate the situation. But it is no simple matter to stifle such feelings. Man can give up something only when he receives something greater in return.

Far from being an armed struggle, jihad is a peaceful struggle.
 

Migration or hijrah of the Prophet Muhammad is a clear example of abandoning violent solutions in favour of peaceful solutions.
 

Now, a peaceful course of action is not just one of the possibilities: it is the only feasible and result-oriented option.
