Faith grows in the same manner in which a tree grows. A tree takes water, minerals and gases from the soil and air to grow itself. In other words, it extracts food from the universe. Even a harmful gas such as CO2 is taken in by the tree and converted into and released as the useful oxygen. A believer too converts every situation he faces or every observation he makes into food for himself. It becomes a means for him to increase in his faith. For example, when a believer faces difficulties, he keeps patience instead of making demands. The difficulty that entered in his life was transformed into a positive value. Difficulties often create a negative mentality, but a believer turns it into positive food for himself. In the same way when a believer achieves success he does not develop pride, rather he attributes it to God and becomes grateful to Him. Success normally makes people heedless of God, but a believer takes success to acknowledge God and draw in nearness to Him. When a believer has an unpleasant experience from a person, he forgives him. What makes one burn to take revenge becomes a means for the believer to invoke God's mercy. A believer observes the universe and sees God's signs in it. A believer thus sees the Creator through His creation. Every experience is divine food for the believer, which increases his faith and conviction.
