The concept of Paradise is not only a religious concept, rather it is very much in accordance with human nature. Then why is it that people do not become seekers of Paradise and even go about denying it? The reason is that people have not been able to understand the scheme of things of God for this world. They could not understand the creation plan of God. The Quran says that when people will enter Paradise and enjoy of its blessings, they will exclaim: '"This is what we were provided with before," because they were given similar things.' (2:25) When they will receive the blessings of Paradise, they will remark that they had enjoyed these in the life of the world as well. That is, the present world is a world similar to Paradise. This world has resemblances with the world of Paradise. The only difference is that in this world along with all the blessings that we receive, we are also being tested here. In Paradise, there will be no test. In other words, this world is also similar to Paradise in terms of the blessings, but because we are being tested we face various unpleasant experiences -- either due to our own faults or due to the misuse of another person's freedom. This aspect of the present world leads to many problems which every person has to confront. However, in Paradise there will be no such hardships and negative experiences. This is why the people of Paradise will say: "Praise be to God who has taken away all sorrow from us." (35:34) Paradise will be a problem-free world, because we will not be tested there. The present world, on the other hand, is a testing ground where we have to face different kinds of problems and challenges. Because of not being able to understand this nature of the present world, people become negative and ungrateful to God. So, they live in complaints. People are unable to explain the problems they face because they are unaware of the creation plan of God for this world.
