Heavenly Personality

Audio

We all want to gain entry to Paradise after death. But what is the condition for this? Often people think that merely reciting certain words or phrases or being punctual about ritual prayer may make them deserving of Paradise. All such notions are undoubtedly baseless. The price to be paid for Paradise is not external to us, rather it is internal. That is, no external act alone can give you Paradise. You will have to develop in yourself a personality which is worthy of being settled in Paradise. The Quran says that Paradise is for one who purifies his soul (20:76). In other words, Paradise is for one who purifies his personality and inculcates divine qualities in himself. This internal purification will guarantee us Paradise, and not any external action that has no relation with our inner personality. Paradise is a refined and sublime society in which we can gain entry only if we develop a character worthy of being settled in such a society. Paradise cannot be attained by our wishful thinking. We have only the period of life before death to make ourselves capable of entry to Paradise. After death, we will not be given a chance to perform good deeds and show our worth for Paradise.
