People think that patience is cowardice or a passive attitude. This thinking is a result of ignorance. The truth is that patience is a very wise action. Patience is the key to success in this world, and it is the virtue of patience that will make us deserving of Paradise in the Hereafter. The Quran clearly says about true believers: "Their reward for being patient will be Paradise." (76:12)
