Daily Quote

Success

People who ultimately succeed are those who are undaunted by disadvantageous circumstances, who waste no time in lamenting over them and who give their attention instead to overcoming whatever difficulties they are faced with.

Putting up with Thorns

If there is to be harmony within a community, the ill attributes of its members must be tolerated, while their good elements appreciated. If we want to pluck “flowers,” we have to also bear the “thorns” that come with them.

Humility

Awareness of one’s own shortcomings makes for a spirit of humility in individuals and unity in society. On the other hand, if an individual sees only the faults of others, he will become arrogant, and perennially be at odds with his fellows.

Negligence

Easy-going negligence can creep into our souls, like bacteria into the body, and, if not pulled up shortly, can become an ingrained attitude, leading to moral corrosion.

Adversity

History has shown that those living in carefree comfort, and not therefore a prey to despair, have generally failed to achieve any notable success; in contrast those who, beset by adversity, continue to strive, emerge subsequently as super achievers.

Give and Take

A jewel may be lost from the crown, but the subsequent benefits are enormous. Clearly, we must give, in order to take. That is the way of the world.

No Shortcuts

Failure in life usually results from the quest for immediate success. The word “shortcut” may be applicable to the world of roads and footpaths, but there are no shortcuts in the struggles of life.

On Facing Problems

Problems are a part of nature. We have no option but to accept this natural course. So, when you face a problem, do not be negative. Do not develop tension. Simply ignore the problem and avail the opportunities that accompany it.

Ignore the Problems

The quantum of opportunities will be more than the quantum of problems. This being so, the best course to adopt is to ignore the problems and divert one’s energy to availing of the opportunities which are always there.

Conciliation

The conciliatory approach always minimises the problem, while the confrontational approach aggravates matters, leaving the initial problem unsolved.
