The true spirit of fasting is to abstain from evil.
The aim of fasting is to weaken the material aspect of man and strengthen the spirituality in him.
Only one God is the Creator of this world. He alone is its Lord and Sustainer. Believing in something other than God, amounts to according the status of an actual reality to a self-concocted supposition. This presupposes the existence of something which has no existence at all.
As soon as a person effaces himself, he becomes capable of building for the future of humanity. Laying personal grievances to one side, he allows his worldly interests, and ambitions to evaporate, without showing any reaction whatsoever.
The secret of a successful family life lies in willing to serve and cooperate. Every family member should have the desire to come to the assistance of others and be willing to live in harmony with them, without allowing differences and complaints to mar the domestic atmosphere.
The field of education, covering ethics, religion, skills and general knowledge, is a very broad and very vital one. Without education, the training of the human mind is incomplete. No individual is a human being in the proper sense until he has been educated.
What man does by fasting is engaging himself more and more in the remembrance and worship of God, and in the recitation of the Quran. Thus, fasting serves as a method to increase the efficacy of worship.
After the night comes the dawn, so that in its light individuals may continue their journey without a break.
Instead of combating violence with violence, we should adopt the policy of avoidance; remaining united in spite of differences.
