Those who are materially well-off think that God has bestowed His great blessings on them. However, this is not so. If one's basic needs are fulfilled, then that is enough as far the material aspect of life is concerned. Otherwise, a person who yearns for more than the fulfillment of his needs would get involved in only acquiring material gain, causing his intellectual side to suffer. Generally those who get worldly fame, wealth and popularity are intellectually dwarfed. Thus intellectual dwarfism is the price to be paid for working only for acquiring material riches. If we do not have excessive material prosperity, we should be thankful to God as in such a situation we can devote more time to developing our thinking and intellect.
