God has made this world a place for testing people. God created man in such a way that everything in him is in terms of potential. A stone is what it appears from outside, it does not have any potential within. A human being has great abilities, but in potential terms. How can this potential be converted into actuality? This happens through shock treatment. When you face challenges and problems, your mind is activated. Toynbee has called this phenomenon 'challenge-response mechanism.' The difficulties we face in this world are meant to bring out this hidden potential. People have been granted freedom so that they can utilize it to tap their inner potential. Some people, however, also misuse this God-given freedom, which leads to unpleasant situations. Freedom is a necessary part of the creation plan, as without it one cannot be tested.
