The Second World War (1939-1945) was fought between two groups—Allied powers and Axis powers. In the war Japan had sided with the Axis powers. Japan suffered a humiliating defeat in this war. Its economic base was almost destroyed by severe bombardment.

At the end of the war on August 15, 1945, the Emperor of Japan Hirohito delivered the following hopeful address over the Japan’s national radio: “However, it is according to the dictates of time and fate that we have resolved to pave the way for a grand peace for all the generations to come by enduring the unendurable and suffering what is unsufferable.”

After the end of the world war, Japan decided to not waste time in complaint or protest, but to develop its nation on positive lines, especially in scientific education. The plan was successful and within thirty years, Japan emerged as an economic superpower. Japan was defeated in the field of war, but after re-planning it regained its former position in the field of peace.

Life is full of chances. If you fail to avail one chance, do not become negative or disheartened. But, try to find out the next chance. By availing the next chance, you can turn your failure into success.

This formula is applicable to both individuals and nations.
