A verse in the Quran says, "Endure patiently whatever may befall you." (31:17). That is, one should bear adversities with patience. If we face problems in life or experience unpleasant situations, then we should respond by being patient. The above verse speaks of the law of nature. God's scheme of things necessarily requires a person to be patient when matters go against his desires or wishes. The world is made in such a way that there is no possibility for giving any response other than that of patience.
