When a person makes a mistake, he necessarily feels repentant about it. This feeling of repentance in a person is a great tool that can be availed of by another person. A lawyer once told me that for 25 years he had been appearing in cases of murder. He had observed that there was no murderer who did not feel repentant and shameful for the act he had committed. Every person who engages in a wrong action has this feeling of repentance. If we avail of this repentance in the wrongdoer, then he will surrender before us. But to avail of this feeling in the person who has performed a wrong deed, we need to be patient. If we do not remain patient, we will start fighting with the wrongdoer. This will bring his ego to the fore and his repentance will fade away.
