The Prophet once said that if a person says bad things about another person, then these words would return to the speaker if the person whom he is accusing is not really so. This means that one's speech can have a boomerang effect. If a person makes a statement which is false or baseless, then it would not have any impact on anyone except his own self. That is, one who makes wrong statements will develop a weak personality -- a personality which is insincere and dishonest. Therefore, one who speaks carelessly pays a very heavy price in terms of his own character development.
