One’s behaviour depends upon one's thinking. If one's thinking is according to the creation plan of God, then one will lead a life of gratitude to God. The Quran says that God will make us enter Paradise which He has already introduced to us. (47:6). This introduction to Paradise takes place in this word. For example, if we think about ourselves we will realize that this world is exceptionally made in accordance to our needs. When I speak, you can hear me. Such an exchange does not happen between any two stars or planets or trees. This thought would make us deeply thankful to God. Unlike human beings, animals are only concerned for their safety and food. They cannot enjoy natural scenes in the way humans can enjoy and appreciate. This too is a reason for thanking God. Similarly, when we are able to enjoy food because of our taste buds or travel in the airplane, we realize that we can do what no other creature can. In this way when we think of Paradise we'll know that all these blessings will be given to us there in eternal and perfect form in the next world. The present world is an imperfect version of Paradise, and Paradise is a perfect version of this world. All this will make us thankful to God, as He is the one who endows these blessings on us both in this world and the Hereafter.
