Waking up in the morning to the noisy chirrup of the birds, a man noticed a broken egg lying on the ground. It had obviously fallen from a nest built by sparrows just under the ceiling of his modest dwelling. Wearily he removed the broken egg, then, noting with disgust the straws which were eternally littering his floor, he stood up on a piece of furniture, and swiped the nest out of its niche. He spent quite some time and effort cleaning up the whole place.

The American space shuttle, Challenger, built at a cost of one billion dollars, was launched into space on January 28, 1986. But within one minute after its lift-off, it exploded violently, reducing itself and its seven passengers to ashes. No one survived to tell the tale of the tragedy.

Man went into space for the first time in 1957; the spaceship, Challenger, being the 25th space shuttle of its kind. It was ironic that crores of happily expectant people were watching the whole event on television.
