In the book The Final Journey, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan explains that Prophet Muhammad was given the responsibility of calling people to the Truth. He gathered the inhabitants of Makkah near the hill of Safa and said to them that they would die in the same way as they slept, and that they would be brought back to life in the same way as they woke up from sleep. After that, there would be either eternal Heaven or eternal Hell. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 4770)

Maulana Wahiduddin Khan has translated the Quran in Urdu and written its commentary in the modern scientific idiom entitled Tazkirul Quran. This has been translated into English as The Quran: English Translation, Commentary and Parallel Arabic Text. Edited by Professor Fardia Khanam, this commentary lays stress on the fact that through reflection, deep thinking and contemplation, divine lessons can be learnt from the signs of God scattered all around us in the world.

The Quran is the Book of God that has been preserved in its entirety for all time to come. It gives God’s preserved Message for mankind. This divine book is easily understandable to anyone directly in Arabic or through its translations. English is today’s international language.

Man has been seeking a Paradise on earth for thousands of years,in response to his natural urges. With the coming of the industrial revolution and the age of consumerism, man actually thought that he could build a Paradise on earth. Pollution, global warming, and now the Covid-19 pandemic has made man realize to the last extent that a Paradise on earth cannot become a reality. Then how can man actually attain the Paradise of his dreams? Standing on the threshold of life, man must rethink and re-plan for Paradise.
