Family of a Believer

With reference to the Prophet’s family, the Quran gives us this teaching, “Bear in mind all that is recited in your homes of the revelations of God and of hikmah (wisdom). God is all pervading and all aware.” (33:34). This is a role model for a believer’s family. This Quranic verse refers to the family of the Prophet in particular, and in general it gives the portrait of a believer’s family.

Eric Morecambe, a famous English television personality and comedian, died on 28 May 1984, of a heart attack. His death occurred just hours after he had told an audience at the Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, how grateful he was for a new lease of life.

Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727) was born into a Christian family. A regular church-goer, he can be said to have been a religious man in every sense of the word. But he is known to the world as a scientist, not as a man of religion. He spent his whole life, setting down the results of his research into the solar system, and it is in this capacity that the world has come to know him.
