Disadvantage Turned into Advantage

Mahatma Gandhi was well-known for his thoughtful and economical manner of speech. But this outstanding trait only came from another trait which few would consider outstanding. He was very shy by nature. Initially his shyness prevented him from speaking in public. He once said, ‘My hesitancy in speech, which was once an annoyance, is now a pleasure.’ Later on it made him thoughtful and economical when he spoke.

Perseverance

One’s initial feeling of disappointment should quickly transform itself into a greater determination to try harder, to alter one’s approach, to seek different and better ways of achieving one’s goal, and to channel one’s energies more effectively towards their ultimate target.

Staying Cool

If there is hate and anger directed against one, one must not let such feelings get under one’s skin instead one should try to feel forgiveness in one’s heart of hearts. Even if the whole world wishes one evil, one should still have only good feelings for others. There is no other way of succeeding in life. If one adopts the same feelings as prevail in one’s outside environment, the challenges of life are sure to be more than one can bear.
