मौलाना वहीदुद्दीन खान  अपनी पैदाइश से अब तक की मेरी पूरी जिंदगी भारत में ही बीती हैं और मैं खुद को इस संस्कृति का हिस्सा मानता हूं। भारत की मोहब्बत मेरे दिल में उसी तरह रची-बसी है, जिस तरह अपनी मां के लिए है।

मैं समझता हूं कि भारतीय संस्कृति के दो पहलू हैं। एक पहलू है आध्यात्मिकता और दूसरा पहलू है शांति। आध्यात्मिकता भारतीय संस्कृति का भीतरी पहलू है और शांति बाहरी- स्वामी विवेकानंद आध्यात्मिकता के प्रतीक हैं और महात्मा गांधी शांति के।

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Hijri calendar. Muslims are enjoined to observe fasting from daybreak to sunset during this month. Fasting is an annual worship in the Islamic faith and one of the five spiritual pillars of Islam.  
What is the purpose of this annual practice? The answer can be had from the Quran. “The month of Ramadan is the month when the Quran was sent down as guidance for mankind with clear proofs of guidance and the criterion by which to distinguish right from wrong.” (2:185)

Once i was travelling in a part of India with which my driver was unfamiliar. He made a wrong turn at one point but drove on for five miles before he realised he was on the wrong road. He had to stop the car then and make a U-turn, and soon we safely reached our destination.
