Dr Gopal Singh was born in Atabad on 29 November 1917, and died in New Delhi on 8 August 1990. He was a man of considerable accomplishment, being well-versed in different languages. In his heyday he was India's ambassador to Bulgaria and British Guiana, while at a later period he was appointed Governor to Nagaland and Goa. Besides these appointments, he occupied various other important posts.

Spirituality is a Complete Way of Life

Man is an intellectual being. He is endowed with a mind, which is his greatest faculty. It is only the possession of this mind and his independent thinking, which distinguish him from animals. Real spirituality is that which has the power to address our minds. Any kind of spirituality attained at a level lesser than that of our minds is not true spirituality.

A man came before the Prophet Muhammad and asked him for some advice. "Will you heed the advice?" the Prophet asked him. The man said that he would. The Prophet said to him: "When you decide on some action, think of its consequences. If they are good, go ahead: and if they are bad, refrain."
