A believer has been advised in the Quran to be steadfast in his prayer, for prayer fends away indecency and evil. (29:45).
When the Prophet of Islam was asked about this verse, he said: “If a person’s prayer does not fend away indecency and evil, then his prayer is not really prayer at all.”

The phrase Allahu Akbar (or God is Great) is the most important part of the Islamic form of ritual prayer. If you add up the number of times this phrase is used in the azan, the call to prayer, and while performing the ritual prayers 5 times a day, it comes to around 300 times every day! This declaration of God being the Greatest is the phrase that is heard and uttered the most number of times in a Muslim’s life.

Abdullah ibn Umar tells of how the Prophet once took him by the shoulders and said: “Live in this world as though you were a wayfarer.”
Of our passage through life Abdullah ibn Umar used to say: “In the evening do not wait for the morning and in the morning do not wait for the evening.
Make the most of your life before you are struck down by illness or death.” (Al-Bukhari).

A man came before the Prophet Muhammad and asked him for some advice. “Will you heed the advice?” the Prophet asked him. The man said that he would. The Prophet said to him: “When you decide on some action, think of its consequences. If they are good, go ahead with it: and if they are bad, refrain from it.”
