Islam Stands the Test of History

In the present book, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan explains that Islam claims to be an eternal religion. Any claim of this kind invites people to judge its validity on historical grounds. If latter day history testifies to its claim, it stands endorsed, otherwise it must be rejected. In this book, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan explains that Islam has stood the test of history. Even after a period of one thousand five hundred years, Islam has suffered no erosion of its validity.

The Creation Plan of God

In the book The Creation Plan of God, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan points out that the famous historian, Edward Gibbon, observed, “Human History is little more than a register of the crimes, follies and misfortunes of mankind.” Other historians and thinkers have also arrived at similar conclusions. The reason for this pessimistic view of history does not lie in history itself, but in our flawed approach to the subject. Our criterion to study history is not the correct one, for it has been formulated by human beings.

Muhammad: The Ideal Character

In the book, Muhammad: The Ideal Character, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan explains that mankind needs a set of moral principles having universal validity as well as a real personality in which these moral principles are exemplified. Prophet Muhammad is the only answer to the question. He proclaimed the ethics, which bear the stamp of divine authenticity, and is, moreover, a model of perfect conduct and character for all mankind. The present book, though a preliminary statement of the case, presents the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad as an ideal for all mankind.

Islamic Fundamentalism

According to Maulana Wahiduddin Khan, Islamic fundamentalism is a recent phenomenon. While studying it we must first understand that the term ‘Islamic fundamentalism’ has not been derived from the Islamic scriptures. Though non-Muslims coined this term, the phenomenon for which the term Islamic fundamentalism is used is indeed a reality. There are a considerable number of Muslims in the world whose thinking and actions add up to what is meant by the term fundamentalism.
