Woman in Islamic Shariah

In the present book entitled Women in Islamic Shariah, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan tries to clear the notion that to interpret the Islamic concept of woman as “degradation” of woman is to distort the actual issue. A Study of the Quran and Hadith tells us that in Islam a woman enjoys the same status as that of a man. The Quran says: “You are members one of another.” (3:195)

The Seeker's Guide

We have entered a new era. Never in history has the world been so connected, diverse, educated and aware. It is an era where, fuelled by curiosity, we find ourselves on a never-ending quest for answers and knowledge and one where confidence in reason prevails over the antiquated ways of superstition. The journey of civilization has brought us to an age where reason has become the strongest voice.

Tabligh Movement

The Tablighi Jamaat is today probably the largest Islamic movement in the world. In the book Tabligh Movement, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan writes that what struck him most about the movement was its strict aloofness from politics, focusing on individual reform. The Jamaat was founded by Maulana Ilyas in 1926 with the aim of guiding Muslims along the right path. It is a mosque-based movement that strives to revive the activities of the mosques on the pattern of the early days of Islam. It aims at creating Islamic awareness among ordinary Muslims in keeping with the Prophetic Sunnah.

Search for Truth

In Search for Truth, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan explains that man is a born seeker—a veritable truth-seeking animal. Every human being regards himself as incomplete until he has found that supreme principle by which he can explain his existence in this world and discover the purpose and meaning of his life. Everyone is a seeker. True. But few are finders. Why? Because, where seeking is instinctive, finding is the outcome of one’s own conscious effort. The book explains that this will to search for the truth is implanted in everyone.
