Maulana Wahiduddin Khan | Search for Truth | Al-Risala, May 1987, p. 5

In education, there is a recently developed method of imparting skills and knowledge, based on research carried out by Jean Piaget and Jerom Brune, which does not give the student all of the data he needs, but attempts to create situations in which he feels the desire to learn things by exercising his own mind. This is called the ‘discovery method’. According to the Encyclopaedia Britannica:

The Fabian society was founded in 1883-84 in London, having as its goal the establishment of a democratic socialist state in Great Britain. The Fabians put their faith in evolutionary Socialism rather than in revolution. They were true pioneers in British social and economic reform and were concerned mainly with the eradication of poverty and ignorance through education.

TRY, TRY, TRY AGAIN

Maulana Wahiduddin Khan | Search for Truth

A person who was employed as an ordinary worker in a tobacco factory soon learnt the entire art of the business and set up his own factory. He initially invested only Rs. 5000/- in his business but then by dint of fifteen years’ hard work, his business progressively increased until it expanded into a big factory. One day, narrating his life story to his friends, he said: “Just as a young child grows into boyhood after fifteen years, so does a business. I have not reached this stage in one day. It has been a fifteen-year struggle.”
