In Search of God

A thinker has said, ‘A smattering of knowledge turns people away from God, while greater knowledge brings them back to Him.’ In the book In Search of God, the author Maulana Wahiduddin Khan concludes by examining various theories that the choice humanity have is not between the universe with God and the Universe without God. The real option is between the Universe with God and no Universe at all. Therefore, humanity is compelled to opt for the proposition of the Universe with God. Hence it is logical to say: l exist, therefore, God exists.

Religion and Science

In the book, Religion and Science, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan explains that there are two kinds of knowledge: knowledge of things and knowledge of truth. So far as "things" are concerned, they display no attribute that cannot be elucidated by direct argument. But where truths are concerned, it is only indirect argument that can throw any light upon them. Indeed, in the case of scientific truths, the validity of indirect or inferential argument is a matter of general acceptance.

The True Jihad

Through the book, The True Jihad, Maulana Wahiduddin Khan proves beyond any shadow of doubt that Islam and violence are contradictory to each other. Islam claims to be an eternal religion and violence as a principle is totally alien to the scheme of things in Islam. The truth of the matter is that all the teachings of Islam are based directly or indirectly on the principle of peace. The word ‘jihad’ has nowhere been used in the Quran to mean war in the sense of launching an offensive. It is used rather to mean a peaceful, ideological ‘struggle’.

The Ideology of Peace

Maulana Wahiduddin Khan explains that peace, which is always desirable for its own sake, has been vital to human progress in every age. He presents this book, The Ideology of Peace, as a gift to the new generation from a peace-loving person. It attempts to present a complete ideology of life based on peace, which can be summed up in these words: Peace is not an option: it is our destiny.
