People think that patience is cowardice or a passive attitude. This thinking is a result of ignorance. The truth is that patience is a very wise action. Patience is the key to success in this world, and it is the virtue of patience that will make us deserving of Paradise in the Hereafter. The Quran clearly says about true believers: "Their reward for being patient will be Paradise." (76:12)

The Quran says about the people of Paradise: "Their reward for being patient will be a Garden and silk [clothing]." (76:12) This means that patience is the price for Paradise. Those who pay the price for Paradise by keeping patience will be granted the highest reward in the Hereafter.
